Fair Time!

The Caruthers Fair decided to come during a heat wave yet again, but we enjoyed it just the same :)

I worked on opening day (Wednesday).  When I got home from work at about 8:15pm, I walked in the house to Kyle freshly showered and getting ready to go somewhere.  "Want to go to the fair?"  I couldn't turn down that offer!  So dressed in my scrubs, we loaded up the kids and got in the car.  Mmmmm, yummy pie was calling my name!  That ended up being the only time that Kyle got to go - dairy life!

Thursday was the pee-wee livestock show.  Colby is now a 3 year veteran.  He loves it.

 Maci decided to cling to Papa for a little while to get comfortable with the whole situation.

 Colby and his helper (also named Colby) walked around the ring like pros.  Colby showed a jersey replacement heifer, "just like Daddy's jerseys!"

 

Cami came to join the fun, too!

 Kayden and Maci are a little small to participate, but loved walking around the animals and kicking the sawdust together.

 

Goat time!  Colby thought that it was a race most of the time.  He was the winner, because he was the only one racing!

Maci especially loved the goats - they were just her size!

During the livestock show, Colby kept asking, "Is it time to ride rides yet?"

I have to take a bit of a side note here.  My Annie is back!  My best friend since second grade, who has been living in Seattle forever, has moved back and that makes me soooo happy :)  Thank heavens for her, especially today.  She acted as my spouse since Kyle was missing and helped me lug the kids around the hot fair all day.  BLESS HER HEART :)

 SUPER SLIDES!  This was a big hit (especially since it was only one ticket - holy moly they do not give those rides away!)

 Maci even got to ride that one - fun!
