R is for Rainbow

We're still doing preschool - almost done with all of the letters of the alphabet.  I haven't been very good at taking pictures of preschool lately.

Today was R.

R is for rainbow

 and Rain

We worked on color words today since it was R is for rainbow.  No pictures, but I made new cards for our candyland game that had color words instead of the actual colors.  At first it was a little rough figuring out the words, but toward the end of the game they were getting better at recognizing the words.  It's funny, we can sing "P-U-R-P-L-E" and they know instantly it's purple, but to see the word and even say the letters out loud (without the tune of the song) they don't recognize the word.  Goes to show that songs are great, but they actually have to understand the concept of letters on a page and not just words to a song.

And let's remember, they are 3.
