The Olympics has greatly affected my children, and apparently Elisabeth's too.
Every morning when a sleepy Colby wakes up he promptly, without fail, requests chocolate milk and "Caillou" (his current favorite show). The last few days he's been requesting chocolate milk and olympics instead. That's saying something!
So for playday this week we had the little Olympics at Cami's house.
The athletes:
First off, we talked about countries and each athlete designed their own flag.
Then we had to have the opening ceremonies. The kids took turns carrying the torch.
Maci
Spencer
Cami
And finally Colby.
We said the pledge of allegiance to the flag near our burning Olympic torch!
Then on to the first event - Equestrian!
The little riders didn't quite get it...
and needed a little assistance :)
We also had a rousing game of balloon volleyball, but much participation was required from the adults, so no pictures of that!
Next Event: Trampoline!
Maci - bronze
Colby - silver
Cami - GOLD!!
Closing ceremonies complete with medals and the singing of the National Anthem.
So Fun!
I love how the Olympics has given excitement to our everyday routine. It has also produced a few bumps and bruises and broken items in the house, but I welcome it all the same :)
GO USA!!!
