Colors and Potions

This week we started our play day with a little color lesson.  We talked about how primary colors mix to make more colors.  Here are Colby and Cami's color wheels...
Then, we decided to just have some messy fun with paint, water, oil, food coloring, glitter, kitchen spices, etc. and make POTIONS :)
They really liked using the medicine droppers and the spices especially.  I think it was the shaking and mess-making that made the spices so appealing.
I talked a little bit about oil and water, but they weren't so interested in that...
Before long, Spencer, Maci and Nathan decided it would be fun to join in, too.
A mixture of science and art - good exploration for our kiddos!
