My Favorite Pirates

Some of our very favorite days are playdays with the Freeman's.  They have become few and far between with all of the changes in the last year, but we still cherish them.  We had to squeeze one more in before it was time for Cami to start (gulp!) kindergarten and Colby to go to preschool.  We started playing together 2 years ago and it's been wonderful!  There will still be Saturdays and school vacations... there better be!
Elisabeth planned a fun filled pirate adventure for us.  Arrrr!
Cameras ready...
 What's this?  A treasure map???
The kids followed the map (literally of the property - so cute) to different stopping places where there would be some sort of pirate activity.  First stop - watching a pirate story on the iPad :)

Second stop - search the jungle to find your pirate gear - telescopes and swash bucklin' swords!
Next stop - are ye brave enough to walk the plank? (her little signs had much better pirate-y sayings)

Next stop - climb aboard the ship (treehouse)!
and sail the 7 seas (boat races).
Hmmmm... what will the next stop bring???
 Dig!

Treasure!!!
And finally, the big red X marked the best treasure - a snack and smiles with friends.

We had Captain Crunch, pirate bananas and "fish and chips!"
 Yum!
 What a crew :)
 A pirate says, "Arrrr!"
Then we had a very nice swim in Davy Jones' Locker.  Best playday ever.
