This week we learned about our noses. Did you know there are lots of different noses?
But they all do the same thing...
Can you tell what something is just by it's smell?
I failed to think about my poor pregnant partner in crime when devising this "smelly" activity. Sorry Elisabeth! The kids did pretty good identifying the smells, but wanted to peek a lot!
Next, we can make art that smells good (well, it smelled at least). Add some spices...
to some watered down glue...
and paint!
The smell of the glue overpowered the spices during the painting process, but it was a great textural difference to the usual paint we use. When the paintings dried, the glue smell faded and you could definitely smell the mixture of spices.
Maci and Spencer are still too little to join in...
After the art was over, Colby wanted to show Cami our transfer activity.
After Cami and Spencer left, Avery and Alivia came over to play and had fun with our spice paintings, too!
Colby: "I like painting with Daddy's coffee. It smells good!"
Avery: "Just don't make it too weak."
HA!
Colby was excited to get to do our activities twice in one day.
SMELLY!
