Thankful in Shaver

November 24-28, 2015

My parents decided a week away from stress was just what the doctor ordered for Thanksgiving so they rented a nice cabin in Shaver for all of us to come and go as we pleased.  We were able to stay almost the entire time, while Kyle went back and forth as he needed to for work.  It was so nice.

There was a loft for the crazy kids and their games...

And it snowed!  A perfect white wonderland.  We had been checking the weather leading up to the trip to see if we would have plenty of snow for sledding.  There was a ton on the ground.  As we went out back the first day to sled, snowflakes started to fall.  "It's snowing!" the kids said.  My mom, who was standing right there with all of us, pulled out her cell phone.  "Is it?  Let me check the weather on my phone."  Oh geez.  We all couldn't stop laughing!  How sad that we are so dependent on those silly apps!

There was the most perfect hill in the backyard of the cabin for sledding.  We didn't have to drive anywhere or sit in cold wet clothes.  We just played to our hearts desire then walked right in to the cozy fire.  Again, perfect.

The kids were fearless (mostly) and we had plenty of sleds for them to zoom down on.

Even Hannah got in on the action (sorta).
My snow babies :)
Little angels.

Kyle took a few slides down the hill!
Hat hair!

Snowball fight!

Can't get enough

I see a Christmas card picture here...

At night we played "Pie Face" before we ate the actual pies - fun!

Thank you so much to Nana and Papa for the perfect getaway.
