Yearly Shaver Trip

Last weekend we took our yearly anniversary trip to Shaver Lake. It's our favorite place to go anytime of the year, but it's especially nice in October because there's not a lot of people and the weather is cool, but not freezing. So we return every year for our anniversary to take time to relax and enjoy the mountains. This is the nice cozy cabin that we reserved:

Stove in the master bedroom, nice bathroom, TV, etc.
Plus a nice living room with a fireplace and room for Colby to run around. There was also a nice kitchenette.

This is the room we got. They accidentally gave our reservation to someone else, so we had to settle for a regular hotel room. Two beds, no space and ultra-thin walls you could hear every other guest through. There was an upside - they gave us this room for FREE since they messed up. Nice.

Despite our disappointment over the room, we did have a very nice and relaxing weekend anyway.

Colby is looking like such a big boy these days! Still not walking yet, but man, he didn't stay a baby for very long!

It was pretty cold when we went for our morning walk so we got Colby all bundled up and he looked pretty cute I think! I'm so excited for winter, I LOVE the cold weather. We always like to walk through the village and look at all of the cabins. Everyone is very friendly and says hello as we walk by. It is so peaceful and relaxing! Colby liked it, too. The stroller ride put him right to sleep :-)
