With all of my good intentions while Colby was at preschool last year of working with Maci and doing fun activities one-on-one with her, it didn't happen. Obviously we spent a lot of time together, it just wasn't necessarily learning time.
So this year Tina and I decided to do home preschool with the girls. Just one day a week, but it will force us to teach them and get them ready for actual preschool next year.
To start, we are learning about the letter "E"
Glue tissue paper to the letters...
Watch silly songs about the letter "E" on YouTube while we do that.
Trace the letter "E" in sugar
Once they figured out it was sugar, the tracing stopped and the licking began - next activity!
Now practice writing.
"E" is for Easter Eggs. We practiced counting our eggs.
Then the girls got to eat the snacks that were hidden inside!
While they ate their snacks, we watched a counting video.
Then did some pre-writing work trying to trace the dotted lines.
"E" is also for Emotions - so we talked about those.
The girls had fun running around outside putting their shadows on the different faces.
Then we came inside and did an emotion activity. I had circle faces on sticks with different emotions on them. I would hold them up and the girls would move like that emotion. Stomping for mad, silly dance for silly, lay down for sleepy, droop and pout for sad, shout "hooray!" for excited, etc.
Successful first day!
