2014 Baseball Season

This year we made the decision to move Colby up to the Rookie under 8 league.  There was only 3 kids on his team that were 5, so he was one of the youngest players on the team.  He wasn't the star by any means, but I'm glad he got to learn some of the actual rules of the game and some fundamental skills, which he wasn't exactly getting in T-ball.
He got some good hits - but didn't always know when to stop running the bases...

He mostly played in right field, which was the perfect spot for him.  Occasionally towards the ends of the games he got to come to the infield.
Can you see why he's usually an outfielder?  How does that glove taste, Colby?

Last hit of the season...
Happy to be on first!
 Now third...
And soooo excited to make it all the way home :)
He never cared if he struck out or didn't get any action in the field, as long as the team won, he was happy.
We even got to see a few familiar faces around the ballpark - man these boys have grown!
After the last game, they huddled up one last time.  GO BULLDOGS!!!
 Pretty fun bunch of kiddos!
When I get his official pictures, I'll post those.  Trophy ceremony will probably not be for another 3 weeks or so.  Colby is already excited for next season!
