Kyle had the opportunity to go to a DFA Young Cooperative conference at the coast last week so Colby and I tagged along. It just so happened to be on our 4 year anniversary so it doubled as our anniversary trip. After the first afternoon of classes, we headed down to the beach to eat some yummy seafood and walked Colby out on the pier. There were surfers in the water, in the dark! Colby loved to watch them wipe out - he thought that was pretty funny. This is the best picture we got...

The next day, Kyle had a full schedule, so Colby and I killed the time by going to a park near the beach. It was cold and misty all morning long, but that didn't stop him!

After playing for a while, we walked down to the "big waters" to play in the sand for a while and feel the water. There were tons of seagulls and we even saw a seal on the rocks.

Colby could care less about the seal, though. He just wanted to throw rocks and play in the dirt.

After only about 15-20 minutes of that, he was done with the beach and wanted to go back up to the park, so away we went.
It seemed like every picture I was taking, he would look away or close his eyes, so I said, Colby, say cheese and DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES! This is what I got. Still pretty darn cute!

He really liked the fake seal!

We met Kyle back at the hotel for his lunch break, then headed back out to kill more time. There were outlets nearby so of course we had to hit those up! Not too exciting actually, but it did waste a few hours.
The conference wasn't exactly Kyle's idea of a good time, and we didn't spend a whole lot of time together, but at least we got out of the heat. Next time, Kyle can skip the conference and have fun with us!

Give a little boy some dirt to kick and he is happy. Looks like you had a great time.
