Ivory Soap + Microwave
= 2 intrigued children
And a cloud :)
We microwaved on the regular setting around 1.5 - 2 minutes and watched it grow before our eyes!
The kids explored the texture and we talked about how the bar of soap looked, felt like, smelled before and after microwaving. A fun science experiment!
And so as not to be wasteful, and have a craft incorporated, we made our cloud back into soap!
Just add a little water, food coloring and the soap into a food processor and blend until it's moistened and sticks together...
Press into cookie cutters and let them dry for 2-3 days. Colored, shaped soap! Even better than before :)
Next it was time for some fun in the sun, er, shade.
Not much slipping or sliding went on, but they had fun playing in the water anyway.
And I found a bumblebee in my vegetable garden.
And a rabbit, too! What a lady-killer :)
Of course we had to cool off with watermelon and popsicles.
The sun feels good!
Even better when someone shares their popsicle with you...
Or when you have your best buddy to giggle with.
