M is for Monster

If you have a toddler, you really should check out this blog ... http://www.oopseydaisyblog.com/
She has tons of toddler "preschool" ideas and provides free printable packets.
This week we decided to expand our playgroup and have a fun "M is for Monster" day.
The ever creative Elisabeth made some felt monsters on a whim for storytelling and play.

The kids did very well sitting on their monster pillows to listen and participate.

Even Maci joined in on the fun...

We played monster games, too. This one was "Don't Scare the Monster!" (similar to "Don't Eat Pete") and Colby was quite upset that he had to wait his turn while Jarod got to eat all the yummy M&M's.

We also played the letter monster game (Thanks, Katie for making this for Colby - he plays with it often!) and did some monster matching (see the oopsey daisy packet for printables).

Then it was time for pin the eye on the monster!

We headed outside and did monster art (made footprints into monsters).

Cami's art...

Whew! All of that playing made our little monsters hungry. Time for a monster snack! AKA monster pizzas.

Colby kneading his dough...

Then we added the "gredients." Monster goo (tomato sauce), monster hair (cheese), and the face (pepperoni & olives).

Bake, and enjoy!!!

A fun monster day!
