15.5 Months

Another trip to the doctor today - time for an update! Here's probably more than you ever wanted or needed to know about our little man...

Colby weighs in at 26 lbs. 2 oz. and is 32.5 in. tall.

He has met all of his milestones :-)

Language:
His favorite words and phrases: peese (please), I dunno, I luv ooo, aw man!, hat, outside, eh are you? (where are you), hi, bye-bye, blankie, paci and no! Then there's, "Colby, how old are you?" to which he answers with a resounding "ONE!" (finger in the air included!). He also has some baby bumblebee flashcards to help with vocabulary, shapes, colors, etc. He's really good with the vocabulary ones (naming pictures, making animal sounds). He can point out a few shapes, but the only one he can name, draw and identify is circles/ovals, which he uses interchangably.
Motor:
Colby could push around a car or tractor for hours doing "work." He walks and runs with fairly good balance and is really into climbing now. Once he climbs up on whatever it is he can find, he likes to stand up and dance or rock as if he is the king of the mountain - mommy usually spoils that fun though to prevent a big fall and a big "owie." Balls are one of his favorite toys. He's working on his jumpshot on his mini basketball hoop and likes to throw and chase his ball around the house. He also loves to color with crayons, especially making the aforesaid circles.

Social:
I don't really think Colby knows what it is to "share" yet, but we're working on it! To tell you the truth, he's around kids the most when mommy is at work, so I don't see his interactions a whole lot. But I do know his favorite cousin is big boy Asher (no offense to his other cousins) and he does not enjoy 9 month old cousin Ty trying to give him hugs and kisses (which usually ends up with both of them rolling on the ground)! In general, he is a pretty affectionate little boy. He gives hugs and kisses to just about anyone and loves giving "pat-pats" on the back.

Nutrition:
This boy eats just about anything that you put in front of him. A few weeks ago he had the stomach flu and was throwing up just about every 10-20 minutes for several hours. Sorry to be so graphic, but in between vomits, he would want to eat and drink like there was no tomorrow. I actually had to tell him no and I felt soooo bad denying the poor boy food and restricting drink to a few sips every few minutes. He loves to eat! His favorite foods are: peas and carrots, green beans, applesauce, bananas, chicken, yogurt, mac and cheese, cheese sticks and oatmeal. 3 more of his favorite words at mealtime: more, all done and keen up (clean up)!

Sleeping:
Ahhh, most nights he sleeps just fine through the night with the occasional exception. Yay! He gets a paci, blankie and a story then he goes in his crib and puts himself to sleep. In bed at 8 and up around 6:30. Usually we get one 1.5-2.5 hour nap a day.

The time goes by way too fast - where did my baby boy go?
