Colby got an assignment from school to build a robot out of recycled materials from home. The idea is to use old cereal boxes, tin foil, etc. to make something that "looks" like a robot. Kyle and Colby weren't going to be satisfied with something that just looks like a robot. It had to actually move!
Colby gathered metal things (an old pie pan, soup cans, nuts, bolts, etc.) and Kyle picked an old toy backhoe that had a motor in it he could steal and they got to work!
Colby was so excited and kept reminding Kyle that it was HIS project so he needed to do all of the work - even the drilling.
After the mechanics were all sorted out, Colby decorated it by glueing old hardware to it.
Here's how it works:
I think he did a great job!
