Shaver Lake Trip

July 8-10, 2014

We had a few relaxing days at the lake - so nice!

 It was HOT!

 But the water was still COLD!  The kids didn't mind very much.

Kyle even went in for a swim!

 Made some sand castles...

 Buried some kids...

 Let's bury your legs!

 Let's keep going to your arms!

 Hey, where did your body go?

 He wanted to stay buried until his cousins came to see him - which would be any minute we thought.  It ended up being about 15 minutes he stayed buried!  I was claustrophobic just looking at him.  He insisted that he stay buried, though!

The other kids thought it was hilarious!

Tubing time - my kids were wimps - Colby tried it and didn't like it, Maci wouldn't even try!

  But she did like to drive :)

 Back to the cabin to relax.  We kept the kids busy decorating pine cones while dinner cooked.

 And don't forget s'mores after dinner!

Then back again the next day for more lake fun!

 Mel brought up our big tube this time!  But the jet-ski was having some mechanical issues, so we had to pull it behind the pontoon.  

 The girls wanted to go faster! FASTER!

 The boys were huge wimps!  They held on for dear life...

 Then started crying uncontrollably when a little water got onto the tube!

 Kyle jumped out to calm them down.

 But... it ended up being too unbalanced weight-wise and they flipped over!  I was too busy laughing to get pics or video of that.  The boys were TERRIFIED.  They clung to Kyle for dear life and asked, "Do they call these life jackets because they can save your life?" "Will they pop?" "SWIM US TO SHORE!"  Huge babies.  They won't be tubing again for a while, I'm sure - and to think, they were being pulled super slow behind a pontoon boat!

Keegan had no fear - girl power!

 Kyle caught a half-dead fish with his hands near the shore.

 And the girls spent hours just digging up mud.  Cutie pies!

It was a very nice trip.  Kyle racked up more than 700 miles on his truck driving back and forth to the dairy twice each day to feed and make sure everything was going well.  He didn't mind, though.  The kids had lots of fun and we got to spend time together as a family :)
