ONE!

I've procrastinated writing this post because I don't want it to be true.  I am still in denial.
Maci is ONE.

We don't go to the doctor until next week so I don't have her official stats, but I know she's right around 23 lbs...
She LOVES to be outside.  She LOVES the grass and dirt and would be more than happy if we just sat outside and played all the day long.
Her brother is one of her favorite people.  When he's asleep or in the other room, she crawls around the house looking for him and yelling "Bubba!"
But sometimes she doesn't mind if he's not around, so she can get into his art projects without him noticing...
Also in her vocabulary: "DaDa" (her favorite word), "Mama," "Papa," "Tata" (tubby) and on a rare occasion "Bye-bye." She can wave and blow kisses when she wants to, but rarely on command. She can also sing the tune to the alphabet song aka Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  She LOVES music and will dance and sing along whenever she hears it.
Maci is a SCREAMER.  She screams like a little girl (how odd!) when she wants attention, when you tell her no, when she's happy, sad, or just bored.  Screams.
She gets into EVERYTHING.  Drawers, cupboards, toys, office supplies ... nothing is safe with this girlie around.  Plus, she still likes to put just about everything in her mouth so I have to keep a close eye on her.
She is standing and walking around furniture but refuses to walk just yet.
She does, however, try to climb on everything.  Especially Colby's step-stool.
She is pretty proud of herself when she figures that one out.  She also gets up on the fireplace, stacked boxes, anything low enough for her to get her leg up onto.
Maci is a happy friendly girl if she's around familiar faces.  Even then, she tends to cling to Mommy quite a bit.
She is still nursing, but only at night.  She is a pretty terrible sleeper.  She wakes up between 2 (on a wonderful rare occasion) and 5 times each night and wants to nurse back to sleep pretty much every time.  So most mornings end up like this...
We've recently discovered she has a love of finger painting...
or maybe it's just getting messy that she loves!  Good thing another favorite of hers is tubby time :)
I can already tell she's got some girly girl in there.  She gravitates toward girl toys and likes to try to copy what Mommy is doing already.  She tries to clean with me, put make-up on, etc.  It's pretty adorable!
She eats everything you put in front of her pretty well.  She especially loves meat, cheese and fruit.  She's not taking the greatest to her sippy cups, so we're working on that.
I had no worries about her diving into her cake on her birthday...
Oops!  So she didn't exactly blow out her candle...
But she didn't cry, so it must not have hurt!
And she had no problems moving on to the eating part!

Most of all, Maci is our sweet, loud, happy, curious, mischevious, precious little girl and we couldn't be happier to have her in our family.
Happy Birthday Maci Girl!
