I need to just start out by saying that this was by far my most favorite Christmas in a long time. It was so fun and turned out so nicely!

Ready for Santa with cookies and milk (and carrots for the reindeer of course!).
Dec 25, 2013
Christmas was a very busy day (actually just morning) for us. I woke up at 4:00 when Kyle left and couldn't go back to sleep. I got up and showered and got ready and waited for the sound of stirring children. No stirring. Kyle came home at about 6:30 and still no stirring. So he showered and got dressed and we waited. Until we couldn't wait anymore! Wake up kids it's CHRISTMAS!!!
A dollhouse for Maci...
Santa left Colby a note on his basketball that said "Colby, I left your present in the driveway. Merry Christmas, Santa." Let's go!
Opened stockings!
And now presents - is this a look of pure joy or what?
After playing very briefly with their new toys...
it was time to head over to the Medeiros' for some present opening CHAOS!
Wowsers! Paper flying everywhere!
After the mass opening session it was time to play with the loot. Papa helped the boys load their new rubber band guns.
In case you wanted a close-up. Yes, he is wearing blinged out ladies glasses :)
SHOOT!
And the girls enjoyed their gifts, too.
OK, no time for a breather. Go home, get dressed quickly and head over to the Robison's for brunch. It's now only 10:00am and we've already had tons of excitement.
Open stockings... Colby is a dump it and check it out kinda guy.
Maci is a take it out one by one and check it out kinda girl.
Can we get a picture? Sit still for 2 seconds.
Then such a yummy brunch that I really hope this turns into a tradition. LOVED it. Biscuits and gravy, french toast casserole, fruit, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and flavored milk. Maci thought it was so good that she stayed at the table long after everyone else was done. Auntie Katie kept her company and listened to lots of stories.
Then - the main event. It was slightly more organized chaos here. Each child got one present at a time to open, but opened them all at the same time.
Best quote of the day: Jack opened up a soccer ball and started kicking it around the living room floor. He had the happiest look on his face as he exclaimed, "And look, it really works!" Guess kids these days are used to getting toys that need batteries?
I don't know that I'll ever understand the mind of a little boy.
Not on purpose, but we all dressed in black - so picture time!
At 12:00 we headed back over to the Medeiros' to stuff our faces more with prime rib. Holy moly!
By 2:00 we headed home, Maci crashed for a 3 hour nap, Colby played with his new stuff and ah, relaxation.
Merriest of Christmases!
